Bush Honey - Seasonal (Various Flowers) 500g Squeeze Bottle Twist Top AAAA
In 1988, after reading about bees and beekeeping while recovering from a back problem, John Midgley bought a bee hive. Before long, both John and his wife Judy were hooked and started making boxes and frames. "We were into beekeeping in a serious way," said Judy. The Midgley's soon had a truck and 400 hives, an extracting plant and were on the road as migratory beekeepers. Things evolved from there and soon the Midgley's started packing Bush Honey. "We soon realised that we couldn't look after about 2.5 million little creatures as well so we reluctantly sold our bees and equipment and became full time honey packers, bringing this quality Australian product to our customers," said Judy. Bush Honey is a family business, involving sons Ben and Graham. "We like to think we give exceptional service to go wtih an exceptional product," concluded Judy! The Australian honey is gathered by migratory bee-keepers who move their bee-hives thousands of kilometers each year, following the blossom, to produce this quality Australian honey. The Midgley's suppliers source as many as possible varieties of honey, which are packed seasonally. For example: Spotted Gum, Stringy Bark, Iron Bark, coastal and inland Bloodwood, Blue Gum, Wildflower, White Box, Yapunyah, Tea Tree, Macadamia, Banksia, Brush Box, Coolibah Mallee Box, and our all time favourite, Bush Honey. Bush Honey is a natural blend occurring in the forests where there are many and diverse types of blossom from ground flora to blossom high in the canopy. Busy Honey varies constantly in colour and flavour, making it the most popular of all the Midgley's varieties. When the seasons allow, the Midgley's pack 10cm square slabs of honeycomb, and fingers of honeycomb in honey, and in the cooler months (usually April - October) they make Creamed Honey and Creamed Honey with Queensland Ginger. Bush Honey is not processed. To present Bush Honey in its most natural form, it is simply warmed and filtered once.
