Sugarless Sweet As Sweetener Powder Sachets, 60 sachets, AAA
SUGARLESS ® Sweetener is used to sweeten drinks such as tea and coffee or to sprinkle on cereal to replace sugar. They make foods and drinks taste sweet, but provide less energy than sugar. Sugarless Sweetener can also be used in cooking. The sweetening ingredient in SUGARLESS ® Sweetener is aspartame, the zero-calorie sweetener, which is composed of two amino acids (the building blocks of protein). In the body, aspartame breaks down into the amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine, as well as a small amount of methanol-components found naturally in foods like meats, milk, fruits and vegetables. The body recognizes and uses these components in exactly the same way, whether they come from aspartame or common foods. Aspartame was discovered in 1965, underwent many years of testing before being declared safe and approved for consumer use for the first time in 1979 in France. In addition to aspartame, SUGARLESS ® Sweetener also contains Acesulphame K, a zero-calorie sweetener used in Europe since 1983, and in the U.S. since 1988, with no known documented adverse health effects. Acesulphame K has also been studied extensively and is found in thousands of products worldwide. SUGARLESS ® Sweetener can be beneficial for anyone trying to control their energy intake of blood sugar levels. Traditionally sweeteners were used mainly by people with diabetes, as it was thought €˜sugar ' raised blood sugar levels. We now know all carbohydrate foods contribute to raised blood sugar levels, however sweeteners are still useful as they are low in carbohydrate. Swapping sugar for a SUGARLESS ® Sweetener allows a sweet tasting food without the extra kilojoules from sugar. Sweeteners also do not contribute to tooth decay, as they are not broken down to acid by bacteria in dental plaque. This has contributed to their popularity in confectionery foods.
